Drop-in Dog Training is a novel approach to
fitting a dog training class into our busy lives. Rather than committing to eight to ten weeks of classes, drop-in dog training allows the student to drop into a class to work on a specific
skill or attend a series of classes. Classes are arranged in a sequence of eight classes, culminating with an opportunity
to take an AKC CGC or STAR Puppy test in week nine. Each class offers instruction and practice in basic exercises
(Loose lead walking, sit, down, stand, come, stay), a game, and a clicker trick, along with a skill focus each week.
Organized by a group of local trainers
with an interest in reaching pet owners who couldn't attend a traditional class; Adirondack Drop-in Dog Training meets on
Thursday nights at Kate Mountain Park in Vermonvtille
at 6:30 PM, weather permitting. There is no charge for participation; all we ask is a commitment to improving your pet's
behavior. Please note that in keeping with local leash laws, all dogs are required to be on a four or six foot leash
(no retractable leads) and we reserve the right to excuse aggressive or dangerous dogs or dogs with extreme behavioral
issues. Additionally, proof of current vaccinations, a current dog license and a signed liability release are also required.
Donations to help defray costs are graciously accepted; a percentage of donations (minimum of 25%) will given to the Tri-Lakes
Humane Society. A limited selection of training equipment will be available for purchase at each class.
